Don LaFontaine, the Voiceover King passed away on Sept. 1st. May he rest. Everyone has heard this man's famous voice. I'll bet only a tiny number of people knew he was married to an African American woman, singer and actress Nita Whitaker, and has three lovely daughters Christine, Skye and Elyse.

Thanks for that vid and the post. I meant to post this subject the day that it was announced but as always there is one distraction after another. I don't know why, but I was pretty surprised to learn that his wife was black. I've heard of him (who hasn't) but in a little bit greater detail (the hubby has been trying to get into doing voiceover work for a while and Don LaFontaine is a really, really big name in that field). I hope he is able to rest in peace.

I forgot his name, until fairly recently seeing his name when he appeared in a GEICO commercial. His voice is so recognizable, especially in movie trailers. But I knew his wife was African American when I saw her with him on TV at least 10 years ago. I was saddened to hear of his passing.
