Hi Guys,

Looking at this particular topic, it amazed me that in this modern day that there are not more movies about the topic of interracial relationships. In particularly black women and men of other races. So, I thought that It would be fun to pose this question to everyone, man or woman on this board.

If you had a chance to make and/or star in a movie about an interracial couple;
1. What would be your Title?
2. Who would be your romantic leads? You can be one of the stars.
3. What would be the genre? romance, thriller, mixture, etc.
4. What would be your plot? whatever you desire.

I'll start.
Title: Honeymoon in the Highlands
leads: would be myself(Asante) and Gerard Butler (300)
genre: comedy/drama/romance
plot: American black woman jilted at the alter by her fiancee (played by Jude Law) goes on her honeymoon alone to Scotland. While there, she meets a scottish tour guide, who has more than a few opinions about Americans and American politics. Asante, who has a fair share of opinions about Europe instantly despises her tour guide, who also despises her until a strange turn of events make them turn to each other for support. Soon, their hate turns into love, and their relationship promises to turn into something more when she decides, on a whim to move to Scotland. At first, this small scottish town has a difficult time adjusting to this black american woman, especially the fact that she is seeing one of their own, which poses issues in and of itself. But, un-phased, Asante and Scottish lover continue their relationship and are determined to make it work until her ex-fiancee shows up wanting her back, and plans to do everything in his power to do so, including getting rid of her new love interest by any means necessary.

I would pay top dollar to see that movie....heck, I would even put up some financing to get it made. Of course I would have to go to Scotland with you to help protect my investment and find out if Gerard has some brothers!!!!!

I know it's almost as if we have gone backward or something. When I watch tv shows/movies of the 60's, 70's, 80's and some 90's they did have more IR or at least tried for more multicultural/multiracial movies, characters etc., but now.

With all the bwwm books coming out you'd think they'd at least have straight to dvd or something

You know this would also make for a good IR novel.

I will try to think of something and post either today, tomorrow or sometime this weekend.
